About Us!

Meet Ms Amy

Amy Metz started dancing when she could barely walk and began formal training early in life. She has studied classical ballet, tap, jazz, and modern over the years through different private studios as well as studying ballroom with Fred Astaire Dance Studios. She studied ballet technique through Ballet Magnificat and Hosanna Ballet summer intensives throughout her training years. In college, Amy studied all dance forms as well as dance pedagogy at The University of Georgia.

Miss Amy continues her education with the Cecchetti Council of America and is a CCA Ballet Associate Member, having taken and passed the teaching examinations for primary levels and grades 1, 2,  3 and 4.  She most recently completed the certification program for Tap for All with Victoria Moore.

Ms. Amy, her husband and daughter are members of Saint Francis Anglican Catholic Church in Gainesville.

Our Story

After relocating to the Gainesville area in 2023, Ms Amy searched for a Christian studio that offered classical training in a non-competitive environment.  She also searched for other Christian arts organizations in the surrounding areas and could not find a place to plug in to.  After praying for about a year, she decided to launch an organization for Christian artists where they can grow in their artform, receiving top of the line classical training, while still maintaining their values and beliefs.

The Artifice Foundation was born!  The word "Artifice" is a very old word!  In ancient times, it referred to a skilled artisan, one who was excellent in their craft.  Ms Amy believes that Christian artists should not have to sacrifice formal training or their beliefs to grow as artists and that art should be available to everyone!

We launched Dance for Joy in the Gainesville area as our first initiative and in the future hope to expand to also include drama training, music classes, visual art, film and more!

We are currently looking for people passionate about the arts to join our board and help us grow our community!
