Tap for All classes are offered throughout the community at senior living facilities as well as churches. Tap for All is also offered through the Dance for Joy spring class session. See the portal link above to sing up!
For our Tap for All classes, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows for movement.
Dance for Joy Dress Code:
Wearing a uniform gives dancers a sense of belonging as well as building confidence and helps our teachers better see body lines so they can help their dancers become the best dancer they can be! Dancers who dress like dancers, dance like dancers.
Ladies: All leotards should be black short sleeved leotards, Capezio Studio Collection Dual Pinch Cap Sleeve Leotard (with Princess Seams) is preferred and required for Grades 1-4. Pink, peach or skin toned tights (no nude tights permitted). Dancers may wear a black ballet skirt and a black wrap ballet sweater in class but neither are permitted in exams. Hair must be in a proper ballet bun prior to class starting. Please see our website for YouTube video links for guidance on proper ballet buns. Shorter hair styles, long bangs and wispy hair should be pinned back away from the face. Ballet shoes should be pink, peach or skin toned and well fitted. Split sole is preferred for over the age of 7.
Gentlemen: All tops should be a fitted white short sleeve top with black dance tights or black dance leggings. Dancers should wear a dance belt when applicable. Hair should be secured away from face using hairspray or a bandana/wrap. Ballet shoes should be black.
Tap: see above for attire. Primary 1-3 should wear black Mary Jane tap shoes. Grades 1-3 should wear black character tap shoes (1/2 to 1 inch heel max). Grades 4+ should wear black jazz tap shoes full sole.
Dance for Joy is a dance studio associated with the Artifice Foundation, Inc. The purpose of the Artifice Foundation is to assist artists from all walks of life to find joy within the arts, including but not limited to dance, voice, dramatic, visual, 3d art, and film in a safe and non-competitive Christian environment.
